Building the future for students: construction and maintenance school bond

On April 17, there will be an Issaquah School District Construction and Maintenance Bond on the ballot.  The proposed bond measure includes funding that will provide for: - Rebuilds of our oldest schools:   Clark Elementary, Issaquah Middle and Sunny Hills Elementary are all at the end of their lifespans.  Rebuilding now, when construction costs and interest rates are at historic lows, is a more efficient use of taxpayer dollars than making costly repairs. - Future capacity and learning environment:   The bond will provide for Phase 2 of the modernization of Liberty High School and will add space to ... read full article

Festival of Cultures

Festival of Cultures On Friday, January 27th, from 6.00-8.30pm, Challenger “will go around the world”  and learn about the culture, food, music and traditions of the countries representing the rich diversity of our school. Students will work on their geography skills while sampling food from all around the world. This free PTA event is run by Challenger families for the whole community, family and friends are welcome to join the journey. Congratulations to all students on Mathblasters!

Every Kindergarten through 5th grade class reached their class goal for Mathblaster minutes and earned a Pizza Party.  Dec. 2 is the date the Kindergarteners, 2nd Graders and 5th graders will enjoy their Papa John's pizza lunch.  Dec. 9 is the date for the 1st, 3rd and 4th graders.  If your child cannot have pizza, please arrange an alternate lunch for thier date. Summer Journal

The Summer Journal Program has been going on all summer.  Forms were distributed last spring; however, if you need to reprint them, click here  (after you select to "read full article").  Students should bring their Journals and Cover Sheet to school during the first week of school where they will be collected and reviewed.  More information to come. ... read full article

Mathblasters

MATHBLASTERS is a program where students are encouraged to track their time doing at-home math-related games and activities for a week.  Both on-line games (with a limit of 2 hrs daily) and board or card games count towards a daily total.  Homework and classroom activities do not count toward this program.  Students will bring home a MATHBLASTERS tally card before it begins on November 2 .  Each day an adult should initial the time the students have spent doing these activities outside of school.  The tally cards will be returned to school each day from Nov. 3 - Nov. 10th.  ... read full article
